All About Creating, Connecting & Exploring

What a meaningful August for Spectrum Speaks, an initiative of Behavioral Teaching Solutions (BTS)!

Through our August activities, participants had opportunities to discover preferences, try something new, connect with others, and—most importantly—participate in ways that worked for them.

This month, we continued exploring what happens when behavioral science, creativity, everyday life skills, and authentic human connection come together.

Hi everyone,

A Look Back at August

Sensory Oasis invited participants to explore sensory preferences through movement, music, writing, tactile experiences, and creative collaboration. Together, we explored an important idea: sensory support isn’t about making everyone experience an environment the same way—it’s about creating choices that help people communicate, participate, and feel comfortable being themselves.

Cook & Connect brought learning into the kitchen! Through hands-on food preparation, participants practiced everyday skills such as following directions, working together, making choices, and building greater independence—all while sharing food and connection.

Language of Love brought creativity, music, reflection, and conversation together in a space centered on self-expression, connection, and wellbeing. Participants were encouraged to explore what connection and expression can look like in their own way.

And we’re just getting started. Community-based experiences like Language of Love will also become part of Conductive Connections, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit sister organization of Behavioral Teaching Solutions, officially launching in December 2026. Conductive Connections will expand opportunities for creativity, wellness, independence, and meaningful community connection. Click here to donate.
